The film is the brainchild of Kristoffer Borgli, who is both writing and directing The Drama. Borgli's previous work includes the Golden Globe-nominated Dream Scenario, which starred Nicolas Cage. Joining Zendaya and Pattinson in the cast are Alana Haim, Mamoudou Athie, and Hailey Gates. The movie wrapped filming late last year, so we're well on our way to seeing it on the big screen!
Behind the scenes, Ari Aster and Lars Knudsen are producing The Drama through their Square Peg banner, collaborating with Kristoffer Borgli and Tyler Campellone of Dilemma Films, and, of course, A24.

They previously worked together on Borgli's Dream Scenario, Death of a Unicorn (starring Paul Rudd and Jenna Ortega), and Ari Aster's Eddington, which boasts a star-studded cast including Joaquin Phoenix, Pedro Pascal, Emma Stone, and Austin Butler. They also brought us the chilling films Hereditary and Midsommar.
Zendaya, a two-time Emmy winner for her role in HBO's Euphoria, continues to be a powerhouse in Hollywood. Her recent roles in Challengers and Dune: Part Two have further solidified her star status.
Robert Pattinson, known for his role as the title character in Warner Bros.'s 2022 superhero film The Batman, which grossed over $770 million worldwide, has been incredibly busy. He's been filming Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey and Denis Villeneuve's third Dune installment. And he's already gearing up to begin shooting The Batman: Part II in Spring 2026.
